Workshop Lead / Vehicle Master Technician
- Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Lead / Master Technician to take ownership of a growing premium automotive workshop supporting manufacturer-franchised vehicles, premium used stock, and bespoke custom projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical excellence, workshop management, and franchise compliance. Manufacturer training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical & Workshop Operations

Lead PDI activities to manufacturer standards

Carry out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and technical fault-finding

Maintain quality control and sign off all completed workshop work

Manage workshop scheduling, ramp utilisation, and workflow priorities

Develop and maintain workshop procedures, safety standards, and documentation

Support VIP custom vehicle builds and specialist projects
Team Leadership

Manage and mentor workshop technicians and support staff

Allocate daily workload and maintain productivity standards

Foster a culture of professionalism, precision, and continuous improvement

Support recruitment and development of future workshop team members
Compliance & Stock Preparation

Ensure manufacturer warranty compliance and accurate record keeping

Stay up to date with technical bulletins, recalls, and manufacturer updates

Oversee preparation and inspection of premium used vehicles

Provide vehicle condition assessments and technical support to the sales team
Essential
-
Master Technician qualification or equivalent senior technical expertise

Experience working on performance, prestige, or specialist vehicles

Previous workshop leadership or supervisory experience

Strong diagnostic and technical problem-solving skills

Experience with manufacturer-standard PDI and warranty processes

Excellent attention to detail and documentation standards

Full UK driving licence
Desirable

Experience with imported or specialist vehicles

Background in bespoke or custom automotive builds

Experience with parts procurement and supplier management

IMI or manufacturer-recognised technical qualifications
